Dress: BCBGeneration ruffle minidress
Cardigan: Anthropologie (Bailey 44) Escarpment Cardigan
Shoes: Nine West gold sandals
The ruffles almost border on overwhelming on this dress, but it's just so cute I don't care. Over the top is my middle name... err, names. I remember buying it (cue nostalgic music): it was my first purchase after my shopping ban several Lents ago (prolly 3 years ago). I hadn't even stepped into a retail store in 40 days and I scooted my butt straight for Nordstrom. Looking through the racks, I spotted this-- and it was the only one left. I remember the sales rep telling me a woman and her daughter had come in earlier that day and loved the dress, but weren't sure so they said they'd come back the next day to get it. The sales rep goes, "I knew this would get bought up before they came back!" Apparently, they had just put it out that morning, and all were sold by the end of the day. I hate that I get a thrill out of scoffing up one of the last of something, but it made it even more exciting for me when I pulled out the Visa for the first time in over a month. Sigh. :) Good times... and it's happily ever after for me and salmon ruffly dress!
I totally see why its your fav dress- salmon looks great with your coloring!
ReplyDeletethanks, Girl! When I have a tan it's even better... haha :)
ReplyDeleteI love that dress! BCBG is one of my favorite stores, and I love when they have over-the-top ruffles or other extras like that! The salmon color looks great on you as well!
ReplyDeleteI am in lust with anything salmon or coral colored at the moment. I need some of it in my closet ASAP! In fact, my mom and I are going shopping this Thursday at the infamous South Coast Plaza (well, at least where I live it's infamous!) I can't wait to hunt for some salmon or coral pieces. You look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI totally LOVE that Bailey 44 cardi *drool*, especially with those gorgeous ruffles! Très chic!! And girl, I have a quick question for ya - I'm might be headed to the Dallas area soon for a trip and will have time for some shopping (yay!). Which Anthro in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area would you recommend? Thanks a billion!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I would recommend trying to hit up the Anthropologie in Highland Park Village, on Preston Ave. It serves a rather small community, so you get the best luck in sizes there. Plus, they usually carry most everything Anthro has. Bonus= the shopping center has some really fun stores, even a Jimmy Choo boutique (always fun to dream!). My second pick is the one in Northpark... it's still pretty good. Otherwise, you're headed out of Dallas-proper to find an Anthropologie.
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! I love salmon color on you and the ruffles aren't overwhelming at all! Too cute and I, of course, love that cardi!
ReplyDeleteOMG I want that dress! It's gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Justine!! The pairing works so well together, both in terms of color and silhouette :) Both pieces are really special, and I loved hearing the story behind them.
ReplyDeleteI can see how this little dress is your favorite. I love how that color looks on you. And the ruffles, well, I am a total sucker for ruffles!
ReplyDeleteAwesomeness! Thanks so much for the recommendations! I'll definitely take your advice and hit up Highland Park Village (and possibly the Northpark one too if I can convince the boyfriend! ha!).
ReplyDeleteThe dress is so cute on your. Nice score.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dress. The ruffles are bold but not too over the top. It looks so chic with the anthropology cardigan! You have great taste!
ReplyDeleteHow rad that you went to the race track today!
ReplyDeleteI think the dress and cardigan are a perfect pairing. You need to bust out this Bailey44 piece more often, lady! Or else, you know, you could always donate it to me winkwink
