OOTD: Pink Part Pwo (I mean, TWO.)

(Quick update: after some issues with the foundation and some in-depth discussions on the value of homeownership vs. mental sanity, we've decided to move along with the townhouse. Which means we'll be moving in about 1 month! Yay! I'm a little nervous about the whole thing, especially after hearing the foundation estimate--YIKES--but I think in the long run it's a good investment. And the bright side is my closet has shoe cubbies. SHOE CUBBIES, ya'll!! p.s. that's been a lifelong dream of mine, to own a closet with shoe cubbies. Anyway.)

Was not kidding about this pink thing, folks! (p.s.: the top's color IRL is more strawberry than it is coral... but I couldn't get the color just right on Photoshop without making my face look sallow. Nice.)

[Plain.]

[Cardi.]

[Jacket.]

Top: Express ruffled tank
Jeans: Hudson signature bootcuts
Necklace 1: Codename Ivy
Necklace 2: White House Black Market
Sweater: Line ruffle cardigan
Jacket: F21 Peplum jacket
Belt 1: Express skinny gold belt
Belt 2: Rodarte for Target leopard belt
Shoes: BCBG Max Azria reptile slides

I really couldn't decide how I liked this top best, and I'm still not sure if I have a preference looking back at it now. I needed a little something to throw over it, since air conditioned buildings in Texas are frigid, but couldn't find the "right" thing. I do feel like anything over it covers up its prettiness, since the raw-looking ruffles make the top. But practicality must win, lovies. Hubs preferred look #2 with the cardigan... but I think that's mostly because he really does not like the Rodarte belt. Boo on him. :)

What say you, readers? Is there a perfect cardigan/jacket to throw over this ruffled tank?

  1. You look great in every look, but the last option is my personal favorite. I love black cardigans, and I love leopard belts!

  2. Love all the looks. I think I prefer the 1st cardigan mainly because its lighter and more 'summery' than the black. Either way they both look good!

I agree with the hubs, but they are all super cute!

  4. I really like both options but I think I prefer the black jacket - the peplum works really well with the ruffly bottom of the tank.

BTW, congrats on your new place and being one step closer to your dream closet!

I really like the 2nd look with the cardigan! Congratulations on your townhouse! Shoe cubbies would have been a deal breaker for me ;)

  8. I love both!! I like the cute belt combo with the black cardigan.

But I think i like the tan cardi best, because of how the tan cardi lets you see more of the cute ruffles of the tank. And the color combination is very nice!!!

  9. While I luff them all, I really enjoy the tan cardi the best. That strawberry color looks fab on your skin tone!

  11. I agree with Hubs! Definitely the cardigan look for the frigid AC. If you come to my house, you can wear it without a sweater!

  14. i love the second look with the cardigan, i can see what you mean about covering up the ruffles though :) but i think if you have to cover it up the 2nd looks is more summery than the third

  15. Love all the looks! That top is really pretty, gotta love the color. You may not know this, but I have an obsession with Express. Over half of my wardrobe staples are from there. Do you think the fact that I'm 25 and just graduated college has something to with it? Lol, I remember reading that when you were in college you loved Express!

  16. lol!! Yes, I worked there in college... oh, the days. haha :) I've recently
come back around, but I have to say I'm hesitant just because I've been
burned by them in the past-- with fit and quality. But I'm liking what I'm
    seeing recently!!

  18. I like both outfits (that first cardigan is beautiful), but if I had to choose, I'd say the second outfit is better on you.

    Congratulations on your townhouse!
