So I've been wearing a lot of my eShakti jacket because of it's warmth factor and it's rather neutral-yet-sparkly pallatte. I decided to check out the site again today to see what they're doing for Spring, and I was very, very pleased. The site looks like it's getting better, and they even have some featured "collections" which are very cute. Here are my picks, which are all extremely reasonably priced and super on-trend for the season! (p.s. I had a hard time narrowing these down, so get ready for an onslaught of photos!)

OOTD: The best skirt EVER.
Everyone needs this, especially if you're wanting to try the lace trend for Spring '10. I think this skirt would be flattering on a whole bunch of body types-- the only problem is the sizing. I sized up to a Medium so I could wear it lower (so it'd be a bit longer and more appropriate). But if you can make it work, then do it! Fo'realz.
First attempt: My Polyvore creation. The real reason I actually bought it was to go with my eShakti blazer, and it definitely hit the mark in my books.
Second attempt: Menswear inspired. This baby was begging me, just begging, to be contrasted with menswear-inspired looks. So I did this, and I quite like it!
Third attempt: The peeking slip. I realized this skirt could be a great solution to some of my shorter dresses that were making their way to the end of the line in my closet. Lo and Behold, this little lacey number spruced up an otherwise short and boring hot pink sweater dress. Yay!

Some updates
A few notes about eshakti: The code I listed was confirmed by their Marketing director as 5 i i k o r (I put the spaces to make it more readable, but the spaces are not needed for the code). If this is not working, I suggest you calling Customer Service to see if they can help you out. I apologize to those of you who were having difficulty using this!! :(
Also, reader Katie (thanks, Katie!) let me know that she received her non-customed order of the Wavelet blouse look-a-like. She said that while the quality was fantastic, she ordered her normal size, and the shirt was very long (like, tunic long). I hope those of you who may have ordered their standard sizing didn't run into this problem, but my thought is that if you can, do the custom tailoring option. I can only speak to my experience (which was great!) and hope that you're as satisfied as I am. :)
Back to a normal post later-- I spotted some pretties on shopbop that I must write an ode to. Stay tuned. Also, I'm wearing one of my favorite dresses today and might just have to show you. Yay!

eShakti order arrived!
On another (even exciting-er) note, my eShakti order arrived! The lovely ladies at http://www.eshakti.com/ let me pick which item I loved the most (a difficult feat) and sent me a free sample. How fun! Thank you, eShakti! Here are a few pics I snapped of this pretty lil' jacket. (PLEASE ignore the blotchy face, ugh... long day at work and makeup has officially melted off ma face.)
Thanks, Rosa, for reminding me I need to tell ya'll about the site... hehe. The site is cool-- they have samples of their designs online and you have two options: buy standard sizing (0 to like 26 or something), or get a custom fit. Yes, it does cost a bit more but I don't think it's unreasonable (not sure of the exact fee). And I think it's worth it, because this thing fits like a charm. It's pretty simple-- fill out their custom measurements form and voila-- your perfectly tailored item comes to you in the mail, like, supahfast. (I've heard about a week after you order-- mine took slightly longer because of the holiday season and vacations) You can even have the dress length custom to what you want-- short or long, or if you want V neck instead of boatneck, they'll do it. Basically what nips/tucks you envision, they'll custom it to you.
My overall review: I love this thing. It's made of a very heavy wool, so I know it will be nice and warm for these next few months. The embroidered sequins are darling and not too flashy, so the jacket maintains a level of elegance. That peplum? So cute. I took that pic with my arms out to show you how much it gives me a waist and flares out at the right spot. It needs a little steaming, but that's easy. One thing I kicked myself for (bad Justine) was not being more careful about my measurements-- the arms are a tad too short, but not so much that it's unwearable by any means. That was totally my fault; I was hasty in my measuring.
I can't speak to their sizing otherwise (i.e. without custom tailoring, as I chose to custom mine), but they have a sizing chart on their site listing deets. Overall, I think I will for sure shop there again. Oh, and maybe sooner than later: Use code 5liKOr to get $20 off a $30 purchase! Nice! (and I've said it before, I'll say it again for any new readers... SRSLY check out their necklaces. Total Anthro inspired, 1/2 the price!) Happy custom shopping. :)

Another eshakti offer!
Remember that website I told ya'll about recently, called www.eshakti.com? OK, well they emailed me to let me know that if you use code 5IiKOr at checkout, you can get $20 off of a $30 purchase. (until the end of the month) Uhh... doing the math, that means you get 66% off! Nice! Yes, thanks, I'll take $30 worth of merch for $10. And remember to check out their necklaces, which I'm dyin' for. Like I said, I'll be featuring the jacket I ordered soon to let you know what I think of their custom services. Yippee!
Be back later with an OOTD, featuring the one-and-only Snowscape blouse. Sigh. :)
