OOTD: Green lace.

I'm really really happy that lace is on-trend for spring. I'll say it once, I'll say it again: I heart lace. I know I'm becoming a broken record so I apologize. When I saw how Shopbop styled this Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent dress I just had to have it for myself (plus a little sale price never hurts!).

 Cute, right?!

While I didn't style it nearly as well as Shopbop did, I did try the tights/boots pairing. I should pull out my fur vest and try it on with this, though!

Dress: Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent lace dress (here, on sale!)
Jacket: Express biker jacket
Tights: Hue
Boots: Steve Madden
Necklace: Express

Buying/Debating/Wishing...

Hi readers! With the decrease in my posting has come some confusion in what I should post when I do. I personally like reading other's picks to buy, wishlists and recent purchases, so I hope you'll be interested in that, too. Let me know if there are things you'd rather me talk about, because I'm open to suggestions! I'd love to start doing some OOTDs again but time has been the main issue-- if you'd really like more of that, let me know and I'll try to work on it. K? K.  :)

Recently Acquired:

With Bloomie's 20% off for F&F time (through November 14th), I decided it was due time to make an order. Even though I actually bought these Blank Denim cargos a long time ago, a sad mishap with bleach rendered them unwearable. Ugh. Fortunately, I re-purchased them at a discount, which makes life a little easier, no?

And I couldn't resist this... a blardigan (by Aqua, Bloomie's contemporary/cheap house brand)! Perfect in cashmere, plus it will look super cute with a maxi skirt like this one (which I purchased and totally love!).

Debating:

I have been wanting a new, comfortable day dress recently, and I love that this Free People dress could go either day or night. But, is it that cute? Not sure... any thoughts on what I should do? Buy or don't buy?

Wishing:

I heart this Steve Madden Berllinn boot. It looks comfortable and chic.. I love how the cuff is not scrunched like lots of other cuffed boots are right now. I'll be waiting on a sale for these, though... or maybe Santa will bring them? Hmm?

OOTD: out of practice.

I've been way slacking on OOTD posts, this I know. Here's the excuse: have you checked the temps out there? I mean, Dallas has had 110 heat indices for about 3 weeks now. At first, I could handle it. Now I'm over it, and frankly, if I can get from my car to an air conditioned building without sweat stains on my clothes it's a success. I wish I were exaggerating but it's the gods-honest-truth. Yuck.

I had this outfit in the archives from before I went to DC. Actually, I wore this dress on our first night there and have yet to wear it for the blog. I bought it originally for my bridal shower last summer and thought it was the perfect thing to wear to something summery and bridal-ey, but the great thing is that it's just plain great to wear anytime. Minus the sweat stains. :)

Dress: Hannah G scalloped tiered dress (Nordstrom)
Belt: F21 bow belt
Jacket: F21 sequin jacket
Shoes: JS Cedary sandals

How are you beating the heat? Hopefully you've been more successful than me.  :)

OOTD: Vodka tonic.

Man.

We've been having freezer problems since last week. We thought it would be ok! Call service guy, quick fix, okay. But the Best Buy Geek Squad dude came by yesterday (did you know the Geek Squad handles freezer emergencies? Neither did I...) and said we'd have to order parts, and if that didn't work, we'll have to get a new one. And wait for another week until they can get someone to fix this already one week old problem. And allllll that food that's spoiled? Well, we'll give you a few bucks towards the spoilage. Even though your wedding cake is in there and it is now an official carrier of some sort of food poisoning that will wreak havoc in your intestines. Great.

Ahem. So what's a girl to do? Make vodka tonics to deal with the stress that ironically have no ice in them because... wait for it... THERE IS NO ICE IN OUR 52 DEGREE FREEZER.

In other news (aka, non-gastro-intestinal-discomfort news)-- Here's the Perilla dress in all her glory! Yaaaayyyy.... (sorry. Having trouble not being totally annoyed.)

Dress: Anthropologie Perilla dress (scored on sale!)
Tank: Nordstrom (from TBD) lace tank
Shoes: Charles Charles David tassle pumps (so old but so classic!!)
Necklace: Juicy Couture locket charm necklace

p.s., I realize roots are noticeable heinous. Roots will be taken care of this weekend. Meaning: I'm going brown. Stay tuned... especially since this will be a mother-in-law weekend project. Gulp.

OOTD: THE summer dress.

I heart this dress. I love the way it feels; I love that it's 100% organic cotton; I love how comfortable it is; I love that it's simple yet eye-catching. I just love it.

And, I took a bit of a trendy-turn with my tall strappy gladiators... which I just had to have last summer and spent hours searching for "THE" pair. I like them... not as much as I did last summer, but still think they're fun. And I've surprisingly gotten many compliments on them. It added a nice pop to a simple white palate.

Dress: H&M garden collection sundress
Necklace: F21 oldie
Shoes: Madden Girl reptile tall gladiator sandals

And... can you see the polish color? It's OPI's "Hey! Get in Lime!" So fun, and my first try at a teal color. Husband told me I only have 10 more years of wearing colors like that. Hurmph.

OOTD: Swirly Mod Goodness.

(I'm outfit-backlogged, so this isn't really my OOTD, and I have no pics of what I'm really wearing today, so no WWJW, either. I know, slacker, right?! It's getting posted anyway.)

I've worn this dress before (long time ago!) on the blog and loved the way it looked with my Pencey Blazer, but now that it's getting what we Texans like to call "Hella Hot" here in the Big D (note: Texans don't say that. It's really just me.), it needed to be worn a la carte. That doesn't mean it can't have some color! I got a wild hair up my ass and decided to pull it out for a joint-birthday party for two of my friends this past weekend. I thought it was casual; husband called it "Justine-Casual." Psssshhaw. Whatever THAT means.

(p.s.: Hubbers took these pics because we were messing with the camera... I felt a bit sheepish without the calm of my bedroom + tripod, so not many were taken. I felt a wee bit silly being watched. Teehee!)

Dress: Francesca's Boutique "60's inspired" dress
Necklace: Aldo Accessories Trenago necklace (my color scheme sold out)
Belt: F21

OOTD: To the maxi!

OK, so since I'm a day back-logged on the outfits of the week, this is actually yesterday's outfit, and I think you can tell. When I'm not feeling the best, it's written all over my face. Look at these pics. Dude... I look sad. Anyway, I like the outfit and loooove maxi dresses, so I wanted to share. I'm totally shocked I haven't yet posted an OOTD with a maxi dress, since they're a go-to comfort outfit for me. I mean, how simple is that: a long dress that practically feels like a nightgown? Yes please. :)

Cardigan: Nordstrom Halogen embroidered cardigan
Dress: Nordstrom BP maxi dress
Shoes: Jessica Simpson Cedary nude sandals
Necklace: Flavanilla Love necklace

So I did go to the doc yesterday because my cough was getting just annoying, and turns out I had bronchitis. Or, have it... but the antibiotics should push it out in a matter of days. Crisis (for Vegas) averted!

And oh! The new shoes arrived. I'd been just dying for a pair of nude sandals, and while they're not perfect, they're awesome and totally pretty, so I'm happy. The size worked, too, which made me more happy. Here are some closeups:

Just what I was looking for: very nude, open toe, high heel, and covers my arch. They seem pretty darn versatile, too.... will look nice dressed up or down. I recommend!

And thanks for all the well-wishes about the impromptu house thing! It's definitely NOT ours yet, and I'm anticipating a long process, so I shouldn't be speaking too soon. There's still a chance it doesn't happen. But one can only hope (and still be scared poopless).

OOTD: Love, zebra.

Two years ago, I had an unhealthy obsession over T-Bags. It's not to say I don't still like their designs, but there was something about the comfort of the material and the bright colors that had me in a tizzy. I'm glad I loved them when I did, because the dresses and shirts that I own are super comfy and are a great way to look cute + still be comfortable. Not sure I'd shell out the price for a rayon dress these days, but back then I did and thank goodness. :)

Wearing the Love necklace again... can't wait for Monday's giveaway. :)

Also wearing the CV for Target wedges. Wore them all weekend. Srsly. Heart.

Copying my newest style icon, Anh from 9 to 5 chic. Love the way she folds up her skinny belts and had to try myself! :)

Dress: T-Bags zebra print dress
Sweater: Anthropologie Summerweight cardigan
Belt: Express from forever ago
Necklace: a mystery Etsy designer (mwahaha)
Shoes: CV for Target cognac gladiator wedges

If you love it so much, why don't you MARRY it?!

... well maybe I will!!!

(Sorry, hubby.)

It'll soon become apparent why that's my title, but before I continue I must shout-out to TWO Rosas right now:

1. To Rosa, who doesn't have a blog, but many of us bloggies know her because she is fantastic and leaves sweet comments on a buncha blogs. Girl, you need your own blog stat. I owe her the biggest thanks because without her, this dress would not be in my possession (I promise not to get too Oscar-y here, k). She kindly scoured her H&M for this dress and apparently got weird-eyed from her husband for beeline-ing to it when she spotted it. Teehee.

2. To Rosa of Love at First Shop, because I first spotted it on her and her sister and fell. in. love. immediately. They looked freekin' adorable, and when I heard it was only $19.95, I begged Rosa (ahem, see above) to find it and send it to me. So thank you to both Rosas!!! :)

Anyway, here is what I love so much that I might marry (well, at least wear until its a dingy shade of tan) (and please pardon the five-gagillion following photos, I'm a tad excited if you can't already tell):

Dress: H&M Garden Collection dress (made of 100% recycled cotton, eeepp!)
Shoes: Linea Paolo reptile wedges

Review-wise, the dress is made of a very heavy recycled cotton. The dress is unique because it has this reconstructed, bulky look about it, but it somehow maintains an air of lightness and femininity that I love. The flower appliques at the top are a bit frayed at the edges, lending to that gruff demeanor. I just heart.

...and some pics with my new Immutable Jacket (a la Anthropologie) --

Belt: Rodarte for Target leopard belt
Shoes (in 2nd pic): Charles Charles David cage bow pumps

p.s. This jacket goes with everything. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed when I received it-- the material is very polyester-ey and felt cheap. But when I found it literally goes with everything in my closet, I was sold and hooked. So no returning happening here.

And can you blame me for breaking the shopping ban for these things? Hmmm? Nope didn't think so. :)

Designer love: Parker

I just had to dedicate a post on Parker's designs because Shopbop just added a whole bunch of new arrivals today that had me drooling (well, among others, including Sachin + Babi, good god check them out).

What I love most about Parker is the combo of laid-back cool and flirty fabrics/colors... their styles are always chic but trendy enough to catch my eye. Plus you can usually score an item between $100 and $200, which is not too hard on the wallet. This season's colors and prints are very retro-throwback... very 1970's. And after seeing The Runaways this weekend (I recommend, if not just for the fashion!) I am so craving more 70's in my life. Hey, Shopbop? Please don't run out of these because I am totally grabbing one or more of these designs in 2 weeks, ok? :)

Ohhhh and ok, why not: MORE EYE CANDY. Drool.

OOTD: Tea Rose Ruffles

This was a recent purchase from good ole Forever 21 (I hope they love me because I give them more money than I want to think about)... it came in the mail with my awesome striped tunic dress. I was initially drawn to this dress because of none other than the tiers of ruffles floating down the side, but I think I'm keeping it because of the colors. Funny how there's so much bright coral pink but it still seems so neutral and classy.  It may be a simple outfit, but I think it's one of my favorites right now!

Dress: F21 (Love 21) dress (out of stock, but here's a similar blue version)
Shoes: Charles by Charles David "Glad" wedge sandals (here; similar here, almost sold out!)
Necklaces: an amalgamation of god knows what.

This dress sold out in like, one day. I bought it when it popped up on the site, and the next day it seemed to vanish. I suppose I'm not the only one who thought it was pretty.
