Gilt/TforT Preview...

For those of you dying to get a sneak peek at the Tucker for Target preview before it hits Gilt.com tomorrow, click HERE!!

I must say, I totally disagree with Cafe Mom's appraisal of the preview... The prints are, overall, pretty cute, and I love the butterfly dress and the diamond print dress. I might just have to hit it up tomorrow if things are still available.

Also, I disagree that Target should team up with well-known designers. If I remember correctly, the whole point of the diffusion lines was to discover new, up and coming designers and help them get their name out there. Now, we have not been seeing that lately (JPG? not so new or up and coming...), but I think Tucker by Gaby Basora was a great change of pace.

What do ya'll think about it???

  1. I was kinda shocked by what she said because she was so unhappy with it. And I agree I like when Target has lesser known designers (though they have yet to do a collaboration with one I don't know) but I am excited for William Rast team up; as well known as they are. I'm not sure if I'll buy any Tucker for Target collection but in general I'm not a big print girl and there fore don't own any actual Tucker products!

  2. Yeah, I'm super annoyed at her assessment... why should everyone want to buy "high end" designers for less... why not spread the love and give up and comers some reco....

I love the butterfly cami and the mosaic blouse is worth grabbing (as in, I wouldn't if it was the usual $265, but I want 'The Blouse' dammit)

  3. Fully agree!! I'm excited to see the whole line! The Gilt thing will probably be a huge disappointment for me though, since I never seem to be quite fast enough with my fingers to snag something at 9:00:01 am SF time......

  4. I really like the Tucker for Target collection, and I also disagree with what she said. A lot of it, I think, would look really cute belted. And the prints are nice because they aren't too overpowering. IMO, TforT so far looks a lot better than Mulberry for Target.

  5. I kind of like one of the flower dresses and I might try to snag one tomorrow. I agree with you. I think that the idea was to promote upcoming designers, kind of what Gap used to do with the CFDA/Vogue project (which now has been passed on to JCrew).

  6. I really like the butterfly cami. I can see myself wearing it with a cute belted cardigan and some dark jeans. I just hate the mad dash in general that has become the Target collabos. I thought the whole point was to make these designs accessable to those of us who can't afford to buy the real thing from the designers' normal lines. I guess I'm still super bitter about not being able to snag the CV wedges...grrrrr.

  8. I admit I am not super thrilled with the whole collection, but I *am* super excited about those floral print dresses! And I also agree that it's awesome that Target is highlighting small designers and increasing their exposure. I was so pleased when I first heard about the Tucker collab.

  9. Insider tip from Gilt: There’s always a chance that items marked as “In Members’ Carts” will still be available to buy if you keep checking!
