As I've previously confessed, my beauty skillz = nill. But, I make up for it in nail-knowledge. This weekend I have some fun plans and decided I needed fun nails to go with. I painted them with Lincoln Park After Midnight (a slightly purple-er shade of LPAD) and then... drumroll please... used Sally Hansen's Salon Effects nail strips on my ring fingers (looks like you can buy them online at ebay, here). I really wanted to try them after reading some reviews and seeing some ads but wasn't wanting to commit to a full set of nails with designs. My solution was to just do one on each hand for a little surprise. I think it's fun, and definitely a special-occasion-only look. What do you think? Tacky or trendy???
As for the product itself, I really like it! I am excited to see how long it lasts, since I've read reviews that say they can last as long as 2 weeks. I'm sure it will long outlive my manicure, which usually has a lifespan of 4-5 days on my hands. Ugh. If you look close at the last photo, you'll notice I messed up a bit at the cuticle by messing with it too much, but it's still not too noticeable. While it's a pretty easy process, I will say a steady hand is helpful.
Have you tried Salon Effects? Will you??

Pardon the interruption...
Morning, bloggies! As you may have read, I'm off to DC today to meet Rosa, a frequent blog-commenter, Summer from Sum Sunshine, and a few other J Crew bloggies! I'm super excited about the trip and can't wait to share pictures of what we did, what we shopped and what we ate (yum).
I'll be back on Monday with some updates! Until then, au revoir, and have a fun weekend no matter where you're spending it. :)

OOTD: Leaving on a... Honda?
Road trip! First, I gotta make it through most of the work day... hoping to hit the road by 3. We'll see how that works out. Just a quick outfit of the day... which I won't be wearing in the car, or else these pretty silk pants will end up looking like a crumpled napkin. Yipes. :)
Tee: Love 21 (F21) embellished tee
Jacket: (you know.) Zara basics blush blazer
Pants: Hinge (Nordies) silk pants
Shoes: Steve Madden Tristano pumps
Earrings: Laundry (methinks... they were gifted)
Hope you all have a great Memorial Day weekend, filled with sunny skies, pool-time, tasty bevies and grills. :)

Sin City.
Good morning, bloggie-lovies.
As you may know (because I won't shaddup about it!), I'm leaving for Las Vegas this afternoon! Which means no blogging this weekend. BUT. I will be updating my Twitter frequently and posting pictures of shopping escapades, the bright lights and yummy food. So please go check me out over there this weekend. On Monday or Tuesday, I'll post some pics on the blog and give a little recap, too.
I hope you all have a nice weekend!!

Housekeeping, again.
Meehhh, I don't like these posts, either!!
1. Thanks for all the nice comments on the post about my H&M dress! I'm glad ya'll liked it as much as I do. A friend of mine thought the first picture looked like me saying, "I'm a princess, wheee!" and she's kinda right. :)
2. Still 2 dresses for sale on the blog sale. I'm going to be posting them on eBay on Monday, most likely. Just sayin'.
3. I've never done this, but I've seen it done before: I'm opening the forum for "Questions about Me." I realize I'm not all that exciting and this might be a big'ole'bust, but I figured I'd ask for questions and see if I can't answer any that you (may/may not) have been wondering about. Either comment below or email me!
4. Happy Easter weekend! I may not get many posts in (family in town, heading to a ranch in Texas, wahoo!) but I'll try and take a pic with my Easter outfit, which will definitely feature more gratuitous photos of the new, pretty dress. Yippee, Hooray!

Super Sunday!
Good morning, ya'll!!
1. Reminder: the Giveaway ends tonight at midnight!! So please get your entries in if you haven't yet. Remmeber, you can still tweet about my contest for an extra entry.
2. Sorry about the few day MIA-ness. Not typical for me to leave ya'll hangin' through the whole weekend, but we had company in town, we drank lots of green beer and we ate our weight in corned beef. Yes... the St. Paddy's day Parade hit Dallas. A great time was had by all. Annnnddd, I have a very, very big decision to make in the next week and am the most indecisive person ever. So I'll be stressing out about that for some time (just a warning).
Happy Sunday, lovies!! and get to that giveaway-entering. Thanks :)

Whooops...
I was so good about posting this week! Almost too good... and then I go 2 days without anything. And the guilt sets in. So now, after a night of partying it up with my ex-coworkers (surprisingly fun!), and a ginger ale/whiskey, I'm going to post a random OOTD. Taken some time last week. When I was feeling exciting and fun and creative. Right now, I'm wearing this:
And yes. I look that good. (jealous?!)Except my nap blanket (cuddle size), has torn edges and may look more... mauve?... than light pink. No matter.
Here's a better look on me....
Dress: Rachel Pally
Sweater: you've seen this before... (J. Crew colorblock cardi)
Shoes: Steve Madden grey studded suede booties
Belt: Steve Madden

Saturday night OOTD
I actually would like to change that to OOTN, outfit of the night. I did wear something different this afternoon, but now I'm wishing I hadn't-- I totally love this look! What do you think?

Blazer: purple velvet by Symmetry
Top: F21 floral teal top
Jeans: Hudsons (the one and only jean brand for me!)
Necklace: Francesca's boutique
Shoes: Nine west dual metallic shoe (see below)
I love this blazer because it is very rare that I can wear it. The weather has to be just right--fall, given the material; cool, given the heaviness of it; and still warm-ish, since it's short sleeved. Ooouufff. But tonight is the night, lovies! :) And I looooove the mix of light pink, teal, and this deep burgandy/purple. My favorite thing is playing with color and texture in an outfit. I've learned that neutrals go beyond black, brown and white. And deep jewel tones can be mixed with a myriad of other colors! I mean, within reason, obiv. Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend full of wonderousness and love and joy. Awwwww. Heh.
