OOTD: All anthropologie, all the time.

Every once in a while, I'll find myself grabbing pieces for an outfit and realizing, "Hey. This is all anthropologie stuff." Sometimes I feel a little geeky and will change so I'm not wearing 100% one brand, but sometimes I'll say the heck with it and wear it proudly. Today was the latter.

Top: Pyrus Linnea Blouse (here)
Jacket: Idra Edited Suede Jacket (find on ebay!)
Jeans: Level 99 Lily Straight Leg (LOVE these, here!!)
Necklace: Frozen Globes Necklace (here)
Shoes: Vera Wang flats (the only non-anthro item on me now!)

Re: the blouse. I know a lot of reviewers thought it was way too boxy, and it's true. It's quite boxy. However, I really like my silk blouses to be light, airy and loose, so it's perfect. Plus I'm a layering whoooor, so again, it works. Re: the jeans. These things are like a glorified jegging and are ahhhhmazing! I totally recommend, especially at under $100. They are just as nice, if not nicer, than my expensive designer jeans. Just what I was looking for.

******************************************************************
IN addition... I have another blog sale offering I found whilst rummaging through the closet. It's an Anthropologie Guinevere cardigan, ca. 2007 or so, worn once. Size S. I'm selling it for $55 shipped (or best offer). It's actually gorgeous but a little too big on me. I never seem to reach for it. It's so very anthropologie, too, isn't it?? Any interest??? :)

FFF: 1.11.11

Make a wish! It's 1.11.11. (You're supposed to make a wish, right?)

Just a little want of mine to post for the day. I'm .11 seconds away from pulling the trigger on this gorgeous lace blazer by Rory Beca (.11... get it? Cuz' of the date? {lame-o}).

Rory Beca Sofia Lace blazer (here for $143)

Almost sold out on Shopbop, but it's in full stock at Nordstrom! I tried this on the other day and woah, it's super cute (and TTS). I imagine it with a maxi skirt, belted at the waist and some huge sunnies. Plus, lace is a big trend for the spring... and we all know how I am about my trends. Now for the weather to begin to cooperate with me and my dreams. Hrmph.

Also, don't forget about my New Year Blog sale! :)

What's in store, 2011: Wide Legs

Happy New Year's Day! Did you enjoy your NYE? The hubs and I had a nice dinner and headed to a house-party afterwards. It was relaxed and nice-- just what I prefer.

Of course, once holiday sales settle down, it's time to start thinking spring fashion and more importantly, new trends for 2011! If one thing's for certain in fashion this year it's this: the 70's are back! Love it or not (for the record, I love it), retro styles will fill our racks this spring. My fave 70's trend that will be back in full force is the wide leg pant. Generally flattering on most body-types, these trousers will come in various shapes and sizes but will shine in the most basic form-- stove-pipe legs, straight down from the hip to your shoe. Here are a few of my picks!

1. The affordable classic: Gap's wide leg trousers

I ordered these in the slate color, which I think will go great with tons of items in my closet. I'll report on how they look when they arrive.

2. The high waist: Topshop's Tobacco belted wide leg

I totally heart the color on these! Definitely a retro classic.

3. The wide leg denim: Hudson Woodstock wide leg

I love this brand because the denim is always soft and not too thick. I bet these are adorable in person. (also, don't forget an exaggerated flare denim for this season!)

4. The cute, comfy pants: Patterson J. Kincaid Jennalyn Chambray wide legs

I love these and bet they would be great to lounge in or run errands with a tee and cardi. Cute!

Do you plan on partaking the wide-leg trend or leaving it behind in the disco-era?

FF's Christmas Sale Picks!

Merry Christmas all! Finals are finished, grades are in, and it looks like little ole' Justiney has lived to tell the tale. Whew. We've been on a non-stop rollercoaster this month, finishing up business at home, traveling and seeing family, so I've been super busy. But what with all these amazing sales, I couldn't stay away too long. :) Here are my top 4 sale picks from retailers... what are YOU spending your Christmas cash on?? :)

1. Shopbop: up to 70% off on winter styles! So many great things to choose from....

Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Lace Slip Dress (sale, $124)-- I am SO grabbing this as a Christmas gift to moi. :)

Other picks: Nanette Lepore Blushing lace blouse; Tucker Smocked Collar Dress in Elodie's Grand Mere; and Boutique 9 Olita Suede Booties! all so perfectly pretty.

2. Neiman Marcus: Lots of goodies on super-sale. Like:

Nanette Lepore Dr. No Jacket (sale, $298). More like yes, yes YES jacket. Heh. (*Crickets*)

Other wants: Rebecca Taylor Jeweled Habutai dress (this runs big so size down!); LaRok assymetric chiffon tank; and Madison Marcus velvet blazer!

3. Express: 30% off today! And as you may know, they often to sales, so you can almost always find something cute and versatile for a great price.

Glitter open toed platform shoes (around $80 after sale). Shoes! Who'da thunk Express would come out with shoes. Nonetheless, cute!

Also: the Tiered-Bottom wool trench coat; and the Military silk shirt (which I love and have in army green; size up for a loose-fit).

4. Piperlime Tag Sale: Gotta love the tag sales! And Piperlime's shipping (free and quick. Done and done.).

Anlo Claire henley (on sale for $97). I love love love this (and snagging this) in Secret Garden. Valentine's Day, anyone? :)

Plus: Tinley Road Sergeant Jacket; Beyond Vintage lace cardi; and Rachel Pally Chiara Mini dress!

Fetching Fashions Fancies: December 9, 2010

Eeeeppp! Sorry I haven't checked in in a few days.... finals are next week and this week has been cahh-rayy-zee getting all that together. So I'll leave you with a pretty to oggle until I can get my butt into gear again. :)

Pick(s) of the Day! (12.1.10)

While I haven't done this in a while, I just couldn't resist posting these gorgeous holiday shoes. Since I have two weddings coming up this winter, I've been on the lookout. And these might just do the trick, yes'siree...

Badgley Mischka Keeper Pump (love in the nude!)

Both avaiable from Nordstrom, both equally amazing. While I've never tried a pair of J.Renee shoes, I do own two pairs of Badgley Mischkas, and I must say-- they are even prettier in person! Which would you wear to your holiday soiree??

Totally Loving Club Monaco for Shopbop!

Happy hump-day, bloggie world! During my daily morning perusal of Shopbop today, I found something I heart-- Club Monaco for Shopbop! Club Monaco is great for classic pieces with a twist and I gotta say... I want EVERYTHING in the lookbook. It's sort of preppy, a little edgy and all gorgeous. The use of the neutural palate is sheer genius. Here are some of my picks:

My fave HAS to be the very last one. So simple and sooooo elegant. What do you think of the collection?

Wishlisting: Shopbop

As many of you who have read my blog for some time know, Shopbop + me = true love (coincidentally, it also = true brokeness, but whatevs). My wishlist is always full at any given time and I'm constantly editing it. Because the stock over there is so extensive, it sorta helps me keep my trend-priorities in line. Do I want a leopard print bootie or a military trench? Even if I don't end up getting half of what's on there, it helps me think about what I really want to indulge in and what I think I can live without (or find a cheaper version somewhere).

With my birthday month approaching (yes, birthday MONTH. It's a month-long affair. You understand.), I'm thinking abotu what I really want and what I can live without. Hmmmm....

 Patterson J Kincaid Scarlet Tunic

Seeing as though I've collected silk blouses like I collect lusty, 17-year-old-stares when I'm in my Eclipse (yes, creepy), do I really need another silk blouse? The answer isn't so simple with this beauty, seeing as though the shape and embroidered details make it so much unlike many other things sitting on my hangers.

LaROK LUXE Corporal Cool jacket

This is the prettiest military style jacket I've found! It's a little pricey, but with a little b-day cash, it might be a nice splurge. It's pretty versatile, too. (Although, it would definitely be between this and the Anthro cape I featured yesterday. Hmm.)

Boutique 9 Rivit boots

A sad thing has happened since I began school (besides the extra 10 poudns I've gained from eating pizza rolls nightly)-- I've pretty much stopped wearing heels. I love the lace up boot look, so I thought these were a great option. Only problem is, they may be a teense too literal on the military trend, plus I honestly have a hard time imagining how my closet would make these work.

Free People In the Trenches jacket

An alternative to the LaRok jacket, even though this is a much more feminine take. I so much love the ruffle hem, ohhhh do I. But it's "fine knit," which is perfectly fine for the next 3 months, but then will sit un-worn from January until March. Maybe that's not a problem enough to not get this.

Patterson J Kincaid Harlow blouse

Again, with the blouses... I actually own this in the ivory color, which is since sold out on Shopbop (although the beigey-pink color is divine!!). It seems silly to buy another, but I really love my ivory one and could totally use a little more red in the fall wardrobe (seeing as it is a trendy fall color).

What are your current shopping dilemmas??

On the Hunt: The Cape

In early August, I began my hunt for fall clothes. I did this because I had no idea what the money situation would be like with me back in school. So I bought a few essentials: a new strong-shouldered blazer, a chunky knit sweater, cord leggings, cargo skinnies, an oversized blouse (or two)...

But now that we can officially start thinking about fall (well, most of YOU can. I'm still sweating my tooshie off here in Dallas) and more trends have emerged, it's about that time to re-evaluate wishlists and figure out what's missing from my closet. The one thing I must say I really want and don't yet have? The cape.

Not sure about y'all, but the cape seems like the perfect topper for cool weather. Warm and cozy, like a blanket with arm holes (snuggie-capes?). Bonus points because they work better with puffy sleeved blouses than do traditional coats with narrow sleeves. Here are my top 3 picks!

THE STRETCH

THE PENNY SAVER

Newport News cape-style jacket

THE IN-BETWEENER (aka, that for which I'm saving my money)

Anthropologie's Everything-In-Place Cape

Just love all these and think they'd be super versatile... what do you think? Are you shaping up for capes this fall?

The Fall Checklist.

If you can't already tell, I'm starting to warm... errr, cool? to the idea of fall. Its so hard when you start seeing the pretty colors and luxe fabrics the cooler months bring! So, as I do biannually, I find myself creating a loose list of what sorts of things I'll be buying in an effort to nail down some sort of style aesthetic for this half of the year. Here it is so far.

1. Olive green.

I don't care if I end up with a jacket, sweater, pants or top in this color as long as I own it. I have been drooling over the moss and army green shades I've been seeing and know it will be a big color for the fall/winter seasons. This J Crew silk jacket is very, very high on my wishlist right now, though! (Why must it be more than $100... why?!)

2. Blazers.

This is no shocker, people. My love for blazers and structured jackets is nothing new. But this season, since school will be in the picture, I plan on really getting some versatile blazers to mix and match with different tops and dresses. I love the vintage-like print on this one from Topshop! So fun.

3. OTK boots.

I've been talking about these since last year, yes I know. But I really love the look. The problem is the price. I don't want a leg full of pleather (teeters on trashy...), but the leather boots are a little hard to swallow. These Boutique 9's are perfect, but I will have to save my money!

4. Leopard.

Again, this is nothing new. I heart animal prints way more than I should. But I'm thinking I need some leopard booties as the quintessential expression of the fall leopard trend. *Dreams.*

5. Comfortable sweaters.

Duh. I mean, this is on everyone's wishlist, right? But I'm talking luxe, thick sweaters to be layered with and cozied up to. Very much like this cabin sweater by Anthro. Sigh.

6. Et Cetera.

This includes: cargo pants; a trench coat; clogs; lace up/peeptoe boots/booties, and so on. These are more wishlisted than needs, but should be included nonetheless. I'm organized here, people. :)

What's on your must-have list for Fall 2010?

OOTD: All tuckered out...

It's quite the task to pack, lovies! I'm just tuckered out thinking about all that has to be done and has been done. I mean, it's so hard watching husband pack up all the boxes. It's really tough to see him having to take all those things down to our cars in this Texas heat. It's super tiring looking at all those books and knick-knacks get wrapped up and put away.

Ha. Just kidding. (sorta, ahem.)

So, to take a break from all the strenuous watching packing, I got tuckered out in the best possible way... say hello to my little (new) friend...

Top: Tucker "Washed out Watercolor" blouse
Jeans: AE super skinnies
Shoes: CV for Target wedges
Belt: Express skinny belt
Necklace: Francesca's Boutique

Oh god how I love this thing. I think I might say that too much on here, but fo'realz. I do. The shape of it is so fantastic-- true, there is no "shape" to speak of, but it just drapes perfectly. Maybe that's really the credit of the pretty fabric, but I just love the relaxed but still somehow tailored aura it gives off. A nice little buy, if I do say so me'self.
You may notice a void in my photos. That would be my tacky Van Gogh picture. It's getting packed (see above discussion).  :)

Get the Look: Lacy shorts

(Please go check out my post on Jen's blog, The Look For Less. I participated in her "3 Wishes" summer series and had so much fun doing so. Thank you, Jen!!)

I got a lot of compliments and comments on the F21 lace shorts in my OOTD earlier today-- thank you! Unforunately, they were for sale at Forever 21 probably 2-3 months ago (I had been looking for a pair of "boudoir" shorts after perusing the spring runways and there they were!) and most likely are not in stores anymore.

Soooo, I did a little searching on this world wide web and found some "inspired-by" pieces that can give you a similar look. I did not find an exact match, which stinks, but if you're wanting to recreate the boudoir short look like I was, these picks may appeal to you. Enjoy!

Lace Turn Up shorts at Topshop, $125
A close match, but *gulp*... that price!

Lace Pleat shorts at Topshop, $65
Come in black and a cute dusty blue.

Elizabeth and James Mondrian Lace shorts, $225
Double *gulp* at price. But super, duper cute!!

Pins and Needles Scalloped lace tap shorts, $25
An inspiration piece, but I like it nonetheless, and to be honest, it's a lot closer to what I was initially looking for. The price is easier to swallow, too! Come in cream as well.

Kimchi Blue silky lace tap short, $28
Another cute UO option! The hem gives the same look as the F21 shorts, which is nice since that's really what you see. Come in purple, black and nude.

Plus gals, remember: lace will continue to be in style through Fall '10, so these boudoir shorts with the addition of some textured tights will look fantastic come the cooler months!! :)

Check it out now.

Check it, readers:

1. Ya'll know IFB, right? And Jennine? She's pretty fab. Cool news= she and Shopbop (one of my sponsors) teamed up on a cool new blogging project on denim called Eat Sleep Denim. Jennine heads up the blog and reviews all sorts of new and tried&true styles of jeans. I personally find this quite serendipitous, because I'm in the market for a new pair. I've been eyeing my standby, Hudson, but I'm a sucker for a new cult brand, so I may check out something wacky. Thank goodness Jennine is here to help us out on the denim front. Please go check her out!

2. Speaking of the loverley Shopbop, they're pretty excited (and frankly, so am I!) about a few new designers they've included in their offerings. Here are my fave brands they've added and some pretty picks...

-- I totally agree that some celebs should never try designing a line (ahem, LO-HO), but many have hit the mark. Nicole Richie and her new Winter Kate line is a great example. Of course, Ms. Richie is no newbie to the designing-scene--House of Harlow is a major hit among many for the fun and boho accessories. Since silk/chiffon is one of my favorite fabrics to wear (next to pure cotton), her line totally appeals to me. Plus, it's flouncy and flowy (another of my faves!). Here's what I love...

Winter Kate Ginger Cardigan

-- Soft Joie is a line launched by (DUH) Joie this spring, so it's very new on the scene but boasts quite a backing with Joie. The line describes its aesthetic as "southern-Cali style," and rightfully so. The basics are perfect layering pieces for us "more-is-more" kind of gals, or stand up on their own with a few nice accessories and a pair of jeans. However you wear it, you can't go wrong. I'm totally eying these:

Soft Joie Theo Long Dress (helllooo Greek goddess!)

Soft Joie Mesa Top

-- I have heard of Halston before, but only through 70's lore: the brand was quite the retro staple for the uber-trendy. Looks like Halston has been reinterpreted through Halston Heritage, which obviously pays homage to 70's and 80's chic. I love the bright colors and the big, bold prints! I need these, stat:

Halston Heritage Double Knot Top

Halston Heritage Tie Front Romper

Halston Heritage Side Shirred Day Dress

3. (Not really something to "check," but needed to be included in my list anyway:) I recently got a request to style my black romper for summer, since the last time I posted an outfit with it was back in the winter. Soooo, reader request, never fear! I'll get on that this week, promise.

I'll be back later this afternoon/evening with some pics of my Rebecca Minkoff Helmut pants, which are causing a crisis of faith (<-- hyperbolic). I need some reader-bloggie-help in deciding to keep them or not. Until then, bloggies...
