I received my order from ModCloth yesterday-- first one ever. I always drool over their unique items, especially the ones that look like they're priced a little closer to their actual value (don't you just love seeing F21 items that are $20 marked up to $50? ridiculous). Overall, I'm generally pleased. All the items I ordered were pretty close to what I was hoping for, and all were things I know I'll keep in my wardrobe repertoire for some time. I've been wearing these shoes since I got them. Seriously. I bought them at Nordstrom with a $50 gift certificate and a $20 Nordie Note and paid about $20 for them. Quite pleased with myself, thankyouverymuch. The heels tower, but I love that about them. And though it's hard to see, the heel and platform are a subtle snake print. Ohhhh animal prints! The love-fest continues...

Unexpected finds

I got out of work a little early today... which means I GO SHOPPIN'. Heeeeellllsss yeah.

Anyway, I found some great items that I hadn't seen online (oh and I stalk F21. So yeah. It must be new... and p.s. a few of these literally JUST showed up online) and I took some fitting room pics. Pardon the graininess, but the combo of iPhone/bad lighting makes for not-so-detailed pics.

First one is a bit of a lie in that I've been looking at this skirt online for some time. But I needed to try it on to see it in action. I'm kinda in love. A little (LOT) bit.

F21 Tweed Bow Skirt

Dear F21... please lengthen your skirts. I don't want to be a hoochy mamma. Thank you. Seriously though, I would probably be wearing this pretty little strawberry-colored skirt with tights 9 out of 10 times. Which is perfectly fine, seeing as though bare legs in winter is not preferable, but I just like a little more leeway. Sigh.

This dress you may recognize from ModCloth's website. I loved this dress online, and I'm not sure it's the same as ModCloth's, but again. The length. Come, now. WAY TOO SHORT. Child pleeeeease. (Sassy much?)

Tiered Velvet Trim Dress

It's so cute! And again, with leggings or tights I love it. But I couldn't ever do without them. Which takes away from the versatility... is it just me or is this one shorter than ModCloth's version?? Hmm....

This last one is the cutest holiday party dress, with much of the same problem. Length. Maybe I just have long legs.

Oh. My. Pockets. POCKETS. SPARKLE. BOWWWWWWW. Pardon the anneurism, but I love this. There was the slightest bit of hem that I could take down, aaaaannnddd I can wear a short dress to a party, right? Oh God I love this. It was generally well-made, too (well-made for a $27 dress, that is). I actually even imagine this with a dark denim jacket and patterened tights for a fun lunch date on a blustery winter afternoon. I'm getting ahead of myself, yes.

Whatcha think? Like these? Don't like them? Agree that F21 dresses are made for girls who are less than 5 feet tall? Discuss.

I apologize ahead of time if this post contains numerous typos or generally makes no sense, as I just spent the last 3 hours racking my brain over a long and arduous test. (p.s. I just pressed the BACKSPACE button about 500000 times just for that one sentence. Ugh.) But it's done! One less thing on the checklist of get-me-back-to-school-NOW.

But. I got my BB Mia tote yesterday in the mail... Here are pics and an OOTD!

OK first thing's first. The purse! It is very sophisticated-- there is a vintage-tote feel to it in person, and it's just what I hoped for. The grey is gorgeous and the pattern is pretty and fun. I'm lovin' it!

Next, deets on the outfit: Forever 21 paisely ruffle tank, AE super skinny jeans, Juicy Couture tiered-sleeve jacket, Etsy necklace (thejewelrybar) and MICHAEL Michael Kors dual-metallic pumps. Here is an up-close of the Juicy jacket... I love love LOVE this thing. Its made of a soft wool and has a cute little tie belt that creates a great waist-line. I tied it around the back today because I wanted to showcase the tank, but it does look nice belted. And the brass/gold buttons are very rich looking. Sigh. Fab-oo.

Going for good Texas barbeque tonight with some friends... I'm pumped! However, I will not be wearing this dry clean only jacket for barbeque. Smart idea, no? :)

Sock-it-to-me

Last year, I went sock-crazy. This was before people were sporting them in my area, and I recall the looks I got walking the streets of Dallas. Some were appalled, some were enticed, and some knew exactly where I got the idea (Shopbop's Fall lookbook 08). This year, socks are more in style, and my drawer full of them is looking a little smaller than I thought... hmmm...

Sock Dreams!!

Socks+ruffles=dreamy. I love this look, and I would wear them with a fun pump like the one shown and a cute sweater dress with a scarf. These are mine. MINE.

I would wear these just they way they are pictures. Adorable! layered over black tights/leggings, some boots, and an oversized sweater.

These might be ridiculous. Or super cute with a simple high-necked dress (and, by necessity of the design, so short that I should be going to a costume party. sowhatwhocares.)

These will not be purchased. Because they are sold out. And I'm crying. Tears... How fun would these be with a patterned dress to catch the eye even more?!

OOTD: pretty little details get me everytime

I bought this jacket from Nordstrom's TBD about 2-3 years ago during the Christmas season. I remembering thinking it was so incredibly pretty and feminine. The tag on the back is strange and doesn't give me a clue to the designer, so I couldn't tell you who this is by. But whoever it is sure pays attention to detail! It reminded me of an Anthropologie item, and I remember getting it, taking it home with me to my parent's house, and having them wrap it up as one of my gifts. Love at first sight. :) Here, I paired it with a White House/Black Market necklace, a Limited top, and my Rich and Skinny boyfriend jeans...

OOTD: Boutonniere dress

I know you all know this dress, have seen this dress, and have seen it on every-other fashion blogger... but still. I love it that much. And wearing something so pretty and fun to work just automatically makes your day better! (except for my hair... it was having a bad day. Sad.)

As I look at my pictures, I realize how many times I sport a hair tie on my wrist. Do you lovies do that, too? I always forget to take it off, and I've even tried getting the hair ties with baubles on them (Anthropologie has one right now I almost bought), but to no avail. You'll always catch me with one, because with a mane as thick as mine, it's a frustrating day when it's not there. I think I need to make this a fashion statement. Or pretend it's a part of my religion or something. Like those red strings Madonna wears.

I really love Polyvore (my fashion persona is definitely stylist), and instead of always posting about my outfit designs, you can check 'em out when you want. Or if you never want. Whichever. In addition, I plan on creating a custom background in the near future. Just stay tuned.
